I gotta pinch myself sometimes just to make sure I'm not dreaming, you know? And taking pictures is the perfect way to hold onto these memories. I hope you enjoy coming along for the ride with me through this gallery stroll. These pics show a little slice of my everyday life around town. I promise, I'll update them every month on the 15th.

Tamales, and more tamales
The holiday season was packed with activities such as posadas, fireworks, and family get-togethers. The standout moment for me was learning to make tamales and paches. While tamales are a well-known holiday treat, paches are a lesser-known gem, made with mashed potatoes instead of corn dough. Choosing between the two is tough, so I was thrilled to enjoy both!

Festival de Barriletes
The town of Sumpango is home to el Festival de Barriletes, an annual showcase of some of the most stunning and gigantic kites you'll ever witness. Stay tuned for an upcoming post where I'll share more information about this incredible event!

Wild Horses
What an exciting experience to encounter a large herd of wild horses keeping us company on our hike! In Guatemala, these beautiful creatures are often used for transportation and carrying goods, so I was thrilled to see so many freely roaming the mountains with us. Their curiosity was enchanting, but remember to keep your distance—they prefer to maintain their wild spirit and don’t like to be touched!

Volcán de Fuego
One of the things I love most about the Guatemalan landscape is the breathtaking variety of volcanoes visible from afar. Just watch Volcan de Fuego erupt—it's one of Guatemala's three remarkable active volcanoes, along with Pacaya and Santiaguito. Fuego offers an exhilarating display, with small gas and ash explosions occurring every 15 to 20 minutes throughout the day. But don't worry, Mom! I was admiring it all from a safe distance!
